It was a pleasure to once again be back working with Zest, a leading events company specialising in bespoke parties, weddings and corporate events. This collaboration allowed us to truly showcase the potential and endless possibilities of holding events within temporary structures.
The Location
Belgrave Square in Central London is a stunning backdrop for any occasion, however, it brought with it challenges in navigating such a large space. Fundamentally, it had very limited access and routes for machinery to distribute equipment to building locations, a problem when transporting such a large amount of kit. The park was required to stay open for local residents during the build which meant implementing Stringent safety precautions.
Marquees provided
The brief was a complex one;
- 3 events
- 4 days
- ranging from 500-800 customers per event
- VIP areas, dinners, receptions and presentation areas
- Changes to the marquee configuration between events
For the main area we provided a 12x30m joined to a 6x12m for the catering, both of which were built on our premium wooden sub-frame floor and connected with guttering. A 3x12m walkway was installed and 4 5m Chinese Hats were used for the VIP and welcome area. Additionally, 5 moveable 3x3m pop ups were provided to allow flexibility for each of the different event’s needs. This was a total of 800sqm of structure onsite.
The Event
On hand between and during events, our crew changed the layout of the main marquee to suit the different uses, as well as replacing old carpet. Window walls were rolled up and walls were taken off the Chinese Hats to open up and incorporate the outdoor space.
Creativity and Innovation
This project exemplifies the ‘blank canvas’ quality of a marquee, demonstrated best through what was achieved with a gable end to transform the VIP area.
“It was immaculate. All of it – crew, product, communications, site management, de-rig, attitude. No wonder Zest comes to you first with any relevant enquiry” – Zest Events
